Cetara
is a very small town on the Amalfitana Coast; it’s
located in a small depression at the feet of Falerio
Mount. Cetara is dominated by the ancient sighting tower
and it’s coloured by many polychrome fishing boats
on its beaches.
The
name comes from "Cetari", the brave tuna hunters
to whom a famous festival is dedicated. Cetara was the
last village of Amalfitana Federation, its "entry
door" and its bastion.
There
is a very nice Romanic church dedicated to Saint Peter,
the Patron, and San Francesco church with its monastery.
